Welcome to the Spirit of Math Contest Practice Centre!
Spirit of Math (SoM) is once again pleased to announce the 26th International Spirit of Math Contest to be held globally on Friday, February 28th, 2025. Open to grades 1 to 6 this contest will be written by students worldwide with the intent to test their skills, develop self-confidence, and experience the joy of math. The registration deadline is Friday, January 31st, 2025.
Students can prepare for the contest by engaging in video lessons and test their knowledge by attempting past contests. Create a free account to access selected content or get premium membership to gain unlimited access to all videos and quizzes.
What do I get with a free account?
A free account gives you access to instructional video(s) in 10 courses on different topics that appear in Spirit of Math Contests. A free account also gives you access to 2 Spirit of Math past contests for each of grades 1 – 4, as well as 1 Spirit of Math past contest for each of grades 5 & 6.
What do I get with a premium account?
A premium membership account gives you full access to 26 courses on different topics that appear in Spirit of Math Contests. Every course contains instructional video(s), a practice quiz with 4 questions and full solutions, and a test with 6 questions. A premium account also gives you access to 21 Spirit of Math past contests for each of grades 1 – 4, as well as 1 Spirit of Math past contest, 1 practice contest, and 2 practice question sets for each of grades 5 & 6.
What is the benefit of a premium membership?
A premium membership enables students to prepare for the International Spirit of Math Contest by strengthening their problem-solving skills while exploring different topics that appear in the International Spirit of Math Contests.
In addition to instructional videos, students have access to practice questions and detailed solutions in each course, as well as a test to check their understanding of the topic. Students also have unlimited attempts to practice with International Spirit of Math contests from the past 21 years!
What is the cost of a premium membership?
A premium membership costs $10.00 per month . The subscription automatically renews and can be cancelled at any time.

Some quiz and test questions are too difficult for my child. Will these be on the contest?
The questions that appear in the quizzes and tests are created at a variety of difficulty levels and are meant to be challenging. The questions are meant to check a student’s understanding of different aspects of a topic. It is not necessary for a student to be able to solve all questions in the quizzes and tests to be successful in the contest.
How should I help my child if they do not know how to answer a question?
If your child does not know how to solve a question, they should watch the video related to the question topic and try solving the questions in the practice quiz for that topic. Once they have finished the practice quiz, they should check any questions they got wrong with the detailed solutions to ensure they understand how to solve the problem.
Can we download the contests and videos to practice offline?
No, the contests and videos are copyrighted and cannot be downloaded. However, you have access to these materials at any time online with an account.
